  • Aggreko Events Services - Europe is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager based in Europe. This role will be a key part of the leadership team, tasked with developing and delivering the events business growth strategy for Europe consistent with the goals of the Global Events strategy. This role plays a key part in driving standards and processes required to enhance efficiency, improve profitability and delivery first class customer service.
  • Working alongside the Sector Manager and Sales Managers for events but importantly interfacing and liaising daily with the operations and depots teams across Europe to align the required support required for major projects and contracts.
  • Customer facing you will be supporting the sales, project management and operations teams in the development and execution of customer orders, ensuring that the projects assigned to be delivered are done so to the predetermined budget expectation and required operational standards.

  • Experience of leading a team (ideally of 5 or more people) to be high-performing and consistently achieve targets
  • A proven track record of delivering high quality services to the Events sector

  • Excellent standard of English language comprehension, oral and written skills. Preferably also fluent in a second European language.
  • Must hold a full valid European driving licence

  • Good IT literacy including Microsoft Office and the use of business information systems
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the AES Europe Operations team to be successful and consistently meet targets.
  • Lead, manage, develop and coach individuals within the team to be their best.
  • Key operational contact with major clients as required. Collaborate with the commercial team to manage strategic customer relationships.
  • Work alongside the AES Sales Managers and Project Managers, on the submission of major tenders, production of commercial bids & P&Ls.
  • Champion Aggreko’s QHSE approved practises within the team, both on and off site.
  • Ensure that organizational products and services consistently meet customer needs - Working with the fleet teams and depot service teams across NoEur and CoEur to make sure equipment required to support event projects is prepared and dispatched to the requirements of our customers.
  • Overall control of release and return of Aggreko fleet items, including AES specialist fleet items.
  • Regularly visit customers and project sites to represent Aggreko as a member of the senior management team.
  • Review operating results of the organization, compare them to established objectives, and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines schedule of product releases or project deadlines.
  • Compile operational and budgetary guidance to effectively communicate key project requirements to the NoEur and CoEur Operations teams at an early stage to assist with fleet and resource allocation.
  • Accountable for cost control and compliance when engaging approved subcontract staff to support the delivery of projects.

  • Conduct periodic project audits / inspections on key project sites.
  • To maintain all department / company related information on our network drive in the approved method.
  • Work closely with the Sector Manager, AES Europe to manage the department P&L within budget, compiling accurate and up to date financial reports when required.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the operations team are compliant in the use of company tools, processes and systems in planning and delivering projects across Europe – Salesforce, Order Fulfilment, FSL etc.
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
  • Develop best business practices sharing across all areas.
  • To perform any other related tasks that may be occasionally required.
  • Sales Support:

  • Work alongside the AES Europe Sales Managers, supporting customer requirements, attending and leading client meetings as required.
  • Support will include assistance with quotations and bids / tenders, ensure the required information is provided in a timely manner. Producing supporting documentation as required.
  • To advise on technical aspects of the fleet, with a view to improvements in the specification of new products and services, particularly green and sustainable technology.
  • Work with product development, sales, and marketing to discern the competitiveness of new technologies.
  • To report back to the management team any new products in the marketplace that compliment Aggreko’s offering, strategy or aspirations and present growth opportunities.
  • To monitor and report back any significant news about competitors (products, services & personnel).
  • Understanding of the commercial strategy for AES Europe, and the strategy and objectives of the department.
